Solution
If you are the victim of fraud, please inform Gumtree by clicking on "Contact Gumtree" link located bottom of our Help pages and send through all information you have about the ad (ideally the ad number) and the email address of the advertiser so we can take it down immediately.
If you decide to report this to the Police, please get them to contact us via the help pages and select "Law enforcement enquiry" from the contact options, so that if they need any information about the ad we can pass all information that we have directly to them.
Gumtree works with law enforcement agencies to try to catch scammers and stop bad people from using the site.
